How do I fix Star Wars KOTOR2 so it runs on Vista?

What is the first Star Wars Book I should read?
I want to start reading the Star Wars series of books but I am un sure where to start, given there are over 100 books. Is “Darth Bane: Path of Destruction” really the best book to start with?

A basic timline would be great, so when I start reading I know which books to get next.I’d recommend starting with Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn which is set 5 years after Return of the Jedi. It’s the first of a trilogy that really helps set the stage for most of the post Episode 6 novels. You don’t really need to start with the pre Episode 1 novels and read them in chronological order.

How do I fix Star Wars KOTOR2 so it runs on Vista?
Hello all, I purchased Star Wars KOTOR2 some time ago and have never been able to get it to run on my computer. My computer exceeds the requirements so it cant be the computer.
The main problem is that when I go to play the game, after pressing play on the launcher, nothing will appear, however when I check my processings it will tell me that it is running.
No game pops up, No window opens up for me to click into the game.
If you can help me it would be much appreciated.Try this website “knightsoftheoldrepublic.filefront.com” I think there is a patch for KOTOR2 for Vista there. It also has a bunch of great mods for the game to if you want to try them. Hope this helps.

How much is my star wars signed picture worth?
i have a star wars picture signed by carrie fisher, harrison ford, mark hammil, and james earl jones. it has the holly wood dreams certificate of authenticity and is signed by one of their agents. any ideas on how much this is worth.. or where i can find out?I’m sure it is worth quite a bit considering how difficult it would be to get all of them to sign a single piece these days. With an item like this, it is impossible to give it a specific dollar amount. The true value would be determined by what someone is willing to pay for it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for my sons star wars party?

Does anyone have any suggestions for my sons star wars party?
My son loves anything star wars. But right now he is really into the Clone Wars. We are having a star wars birthday party for him in a few weeks. Does anyone have any ideas for games or activities? We would really appreciate any suggestions. He will be turning 8 so we would need age appropriate ideas. Thanks in advance.

Lots of Star Wars stuff. Good luck! They’ll ship it fast too.

Here’s some ideas that I copied from a party website and just had them in my desktop.

Clone Wars
Before the party plan some skill games and relay races.
Divide the children into two teams – Droids and Clones.
The teams will compete against each other using the skill games. Award points for every game the teams win. At the end of all of the games the team with the most points wins the war.
Examples for skill games:
Sack races, three legged relays, clothes pin bucket drop, ball and bucket toss, bean bag tosses etc. Hide cards that say Clone and Droid (equal amount of each). Teams have to find all of their cards – first team to find them all wins.

Jedi Training Course
Create a challenging obstacle course in a large area for your Jedi trainees. Use tires, ropes, 2×4 boards, lawn furniture etc.The children will race or go through the course one at a time.

Light Saber Training
Before the party, make a light saber for each player using foam pipe insulation or skinny swimming “noodles”. Wrap 4-6 inches from the end with colored electrical tape to make a handle.

Inflate several balloons. Divide the children into pairs and give each pair an inflated balloon. The object of the game is to keep the balloon off the ground using only the light sabers.
TIP: play the soundtrack from Star Wars while the
kids are playing this game.

Who Said It ?
This game is best for older kids. Before the party, write several lines from the Star Wars Movies. Divide the players into teams. When the “Star Wars Master” (mom or dad),reads a line from the movie, the team to correctly say which movie the quote is from wins a point. The most point wins!

How many episodes of the new Star Wars: Clone Wars TV show are there going to be?
I have been watching the new TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars on cartoon network and i have been buying the episodes on itunes. There is a season pass that you can buy for 40 dollars and i was wondering how many episodes that there will be in the whole season so i could maybe save some money with that pass. Would it cost more to buy the pass for $40 or buy every episode separately for $1.99 each? There are going to be 22 episodes in the first series.
How can I play my friend on Star Wars Battlefront 2 using an ethernet cable for pc?
My friend and I have bad internet connection so we want to play battlefront 2 from star wars against each other using an ethernet cable. My problem is how do I get 2 CF-18 laptops to work with an ethernet cable to play against each other. THanks for the help!

What is the difference between lego star wars 1 & 2?

Friday, February 24th, 2012

What are some Star Wars books focusing on the clones?I’m sick of jedi this and jedi that. Are there any Star Wars books mainly about the clones? I already read the Star Wars: Republic Commandos series by Karen Traviss and will read the future books. Any others out there?

Kind of hard to get away from the “Jedi this and Jedi that” when it’s pretty much the main story line for the entire story but I can see your point … they are pushing that pretty hard right now.”Xeno…” recommends one of the best Clone Wars novels and so do I … “The Cestus Deception” is a incredible look into the way the clones see themselves. The “Courscant Nights” Trilogy is a decent read. Have you read any of the “Tales” books? Lots of short stories about minor and major characters in the SW universe. If you really want to get out there find the Lando Adventures trilogy … a little off beat but a decent read. Then you have the two Han Solo trilogies out there. One thing to add to this … on her blog last week Karen Traviss said that she will not be writing any more Star Wars books. Interviews with some of the other SW EU authors have reviled her to be very self centered, not a team player, and someone who gets ticked off if somebody else uses “her” characters in a story. She’s a great author and her view of the Mando culture is great but her ego and arrogance is going to take a lot of great stories away from the fans … she should be ashamed of herself.

What is the difference between lego star wars 1 & 2?On lego star wars 2, I know you can ride some vechicles such as At units and space fighters. Also it has Bounty hunter missions.Does lego star wars 1 have something smilar or better?Lego Star Wars 1 is the prequel episodes. It is not as in depth as Lego SW 2. It doesn’t have any secret missions. Though, I think it depends on your game system, if you beat SW1, you can copy over your unlocked characters to SW2 and use them in the game.

What is the best era and time in Star Wars?

How do you get rid of saved character costumes on star wars the force unleashed?
I activated two character costume codes( Mace Windu & Emperor Palpatine) on Star Wars The Force Unleashed (on the Wii) and saved it, and now I noticed that I’m only missing those two characters on duel mode and I already beat the game. Can someone help me out?

First of all you can’t get emperor palpatine for vs. mode.If you beat it only once you will have 1 space missing. You need to beat it again but on a diff. side.emperor palpatine-light side (ceremonial Jedi Robes costume)Darth vader- dark side (Sith stalker armor)It has to be at the end dat is when u make ur choice.choosing a diff. side might also result in getting mace windu.

What is the best era and time in Star Wars?
I’m a big Star Wars fan, and I really like the early New Republic era all the way to the early New Jedi Order era, 6 ABY to around 30 ABY to be exact. But I’m just a little curious what other fans like. I mainly just want to see if anybody likes the Alliance and the new jedi. I know a lot of people like the Clone Wars but I’ve never really found that time interesting.

I like the times surrounding the first Deathstar. There is intrigue and plotting, advances in spacecraft, the rebirth of the Jedi, the miraculous destruction of the deathstar and the crushing of hope as the empire continues on after words. The clone wars, while primarily deception, weren’t as interesting since the sides were very clearly drawn. The Post empire period is also a little less interesting to me since it is a reconstruction period more than anything else.

What order should one watch the Star Wars movies and why?

What order should one watch the Star Wars movies and why?
I’ve seen all of the Star Wars movie, but say you were going to show someone the series, would you start at IV or I? Why?

This question gets asked a lot and no offense to those who say to watch them in Chronological order (IE: ep 1 – 6 ) but they just don’t get it because that is the absolute worst way to watch them. If you want to enjoy the full experience of the Star Wars saga then I beg you … the only way to watch them is ep IV – VI then ep I – III. Why … well this is just my “theory” but it holds a couple oceans of water.Start with the fact that they were released that way and that is how the story was meant to be told. Watching them this way will also keep the “suspense” in them. Both of the trilogies “tell” on the secrets of the others but the prequels take much of the suspense out of the OT with some of the info learned in them. There is a scene in episode V: The Empire Strikes Back that was voted # 4 by SAG as one of the most shocking revelations in the entire history of film … if you watch them ep I – III then ep IV – VI you will lose the “WTF” value it carried in 1980 because you will already know what it is and it won’t seem like a big deal to you. The problem with that is that this event WAS a big deal to the saga itself. It basically took everything we thought we knew and tossed it into the recycle bin. To this day I remember what happened in the theater I was in to watch this movie for the first time and heard Darth Vader utter 5 words that turned the Star Wars saga upside down … absolute silence … you could have heard a pin drop 10 miles away … we were stunned silent by this “revelation” … this went on for about 10 seconds and then one by one you heard people say, no way … he’s lying … don’t believe him Luke … and it went on until Luke made his decision and then another cheer went up in the crowd. Yeah, that’s the kind of “crazy” we were back then. This trilogy grabbed the people of my generation and said … you think that was cool … watch this. It’s kind of like it was back in the 50s when all the kids were listening to that “Devil Music” called Rock n Roll. It was one of those things that had to be felt not seen. I doubt we will ever seen any movie in any genre that will come close to topping this saga …

There is one other thing to decide also with respect to the OT (ep 4 – ep 6) … there are 3 versions of these movies … the ones that came out to theaters in 77 – 83 … the SE versions that came to theaters in 97 … and the DVD versions that came out in 2004. Is there much difference between the 3 versions … for the most part no. The main thing that was changed was picture quality and sound quality. Lucas did change some scenes and did add some small scenes. I would suggest you watch the DVD versions, as they are the “final” word according to Lucas.

Many people “trash” the prequels, I really can’t abide by that. Even as a true Star Wars Geek I will be the first to admit that the prequels were flawed … at least ep 1 & 2 … personally I thought that ep 3 rocked from start to finish but that’s just me I guess. I really wish that fans would stop and think about just why they didn’t like the prequels and actually say why they don’t like them instead of saying “they suck”. When I stop and do that I come up with 3 main reasons why they weren’t as good as the originals. First, Lucas got too hung up on all the fancy different ways he could blow things up with all the new CGI that they had developed at ILM and forgot that what made Star Wars the iconic saga that it was and will always be … the story itself. Second, is that when Lucas decided to make the prequels he had to do the impossible … make 3 more movies as good as or better than the original trilogy … it couldn’t be done. Third, fan ignorance. With the 16 years in between the trilogies fans had already came up with their own “version” of how these 3 movies would go and when they didn’t match the story in their head if ticked them off to the point that they didn’t like them.Anyways, sorry for the ramble but the Star Wars saga is one of my true passions.. I guess the main thing I’m trying to say is that ep IV – VI then ep I – III is the way to go if you want to feel the true magic of Star Wars.

What outfit do you get in star wars the force unleashed 2 Sith edition?

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Why are star wars audio books abridged fiction ?I recently downloaded the audio book “Star Wars: Courtship of Princess Leia” from iTunes and saw that it was abridged.Looking at the rest of the audio books on iTunes I saw that all of the star wars books are abridged. Why is that?

Many audio books, not just Star Wars audio books, are released in an abridged format to condense material to a suitable length.Novels are supposed to be read silently to oneself, which is generally faster than reading aloud. To release a complete version of the novel in audio form would likely last over 20 hours and therefore be very expensive to both the publisher to produce and the consumer to purchase, so instead the publisher will remove anything from small references to entire scenes which are considered superfluous, i.e. they do not move the story along.

What outfit do you get in star wars the force unleashed 2 Sith edition?I entered the code and I’m on the second mission. I only have the clone outfit and the pilot outfit. how do you get the outfit I entered the code for?

if you mean the collector edition then you should get the maulkiller costume and the amplification lightsaber crystals. To redeem the code if you have the xbox 360, you have to first have an xbox live account (Free silver is ok) and then once connected to xbox live, press the xbox menu button and search for redeem code, then put the code in and it shoild download the costume and the crystals right away. then search for the add that says something like maulkiller costume the force unleashed 2 and follow the instructions in there.

About the dark lord armour, you can only get it by buying the character pack in xboxlive or Playstation store, it is about 1 dollar special prize. About the black crystal it is in the mission Kamino the return nearly at the end where there is a holocron at the top of the vents where you can only get by jumping in an object near it. The other is gained after receiving a gold medal in the scout trooper challenge. hope it helps.

How do I get my progress back on star wars the force unleashed?

How do you choose the sith ending in star wars the force unleashed?
I have star wars the force unleashed for xbox 360 and I beat the game but I accidentally chose the jedi ending. How can I just replay the part where you choose the ending and choose the sith ending without replaying the entire game?
Well I don’t know if you can choose a level to play with the XBOX, I know with the PS2 you have to restart from the beginning…not that I mind. In any case, you get the sith ending by fighting Darth Vader a second time instead of the Emperor. When the final level starts (after the first Vader fight), you will see Vader on the right and the Emperor on the left. Move towards Vader and you will fight him, which will trigger the sith ending.
How do I get my progress back on star wars the force unleashed?
I was playing star wars the force unleashed, and finally finished the game before I accidentally overwrote the game. How do I get my progress back?
Im afraid you cant. Unless you had a backup save on a memory card or something. I done the exact same thing in oblivion and I was furious.

How do i convince my parents to let me buy star wars battlefront elite squadron.?

How do i convince my parents to let me buy star wars battlefront elite squadron.?
Ok i really want star wars battlefront elite squadron and my parents won’t let me get it. It’s mostly my mom she thinks star wars is bad and everything. My dad would let me get it if my mom says yes but she won’t. I’ts not that she’s entirery against shooters because I have medal of honor heroes 2 but as i said she doesn’t like star wars. How do i convince them to let me get it ?

Tell her that while she might not like star wars you are very interested in the concept of the future and love the idea of being able to play a game that lets you play in the future.. Also look up information about the game so your mom thinks you have really thought out your decision. Its all about confidence.

Is star wars prequel trilogy ever coming to blu ray?
I want it on blu ray I won’t buy it until that happens . I only want the star wars with anakin not the old one.
The only SW movie that is out on Blu-Ray is the Animated Clone Wars movie … I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the others to come out on that format. Lucas and many others in “Hollywood” are not sold on Blu-Ray becoming the next big thing … there are also many who think it is a dead format. Personally I would go with the “dead” idea but I’m not “full in” on that yet. Don’t get me wrong, Blu-Ray does have much better picture quality and sound but not enough to justify the added cost of the player and new home theater equipment. There are tons of other “pros” & “cons” for this but going into that rant wouldn’t serve any purpose in regards to your question.

I wouldn’t look for SW to be on Blu-Ray, if ever, until after Lucas has brought all 6 movies back to theaters in a true 3-D format. Most “rumors” point to this happening in 2012 but again … I wouldn’t hold my breath.

How do you choose the sith ending in star wars the force unleashed?

What Star Wars book should I start with?
I’m trying to get into the star wars books. In your opinion what series or book should I start with?

The Truce at Bakura would be a good starting point, because it begins the day after Return of the Jedi. From there, I would go to the Courtship of Princess Leia, then maybe to Tatooine Ghost (If you like Han and Leia) and then to the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn. I, personally, did not enjoy the Thrawn Trilogy because it was very complicated. In that particular trilogy, they introduce a lot of new characters and start to move towards really deep-space Extended Universe stuff. However, the Thrawn Trilogy is a vital gateway towards a lot of the Extended Universe books about Han and Leia’s children.

If you are looking for a simple, fun read, I would head in the opposite direction, and read the Han Solo Trilogy by A.C. Crispin. The Han Solo trilogy consists of The Paradise Snare, The Hutt Gambit, and Rebel Dawn. It tells the story of Han’s life from the time he was 17, right up until Episode 4. It explains things like how Han and Lando came to be friends, how Han won the Millenium Falcon, and how Chewbacca came to owe Han a life debt. It deals with some of Han’s early girlfriends, and kind of describes his bachelor life. I would reccommend it because of how closely it matches up with the star wars trilogy.

I posted the wikipedia link for every Star Wars book ever written- I would reccommend finding some of thse titles and reading the synopsis Wikipedia provides. In the back of some of the older Star Wars books, like the Courtship of Princess Leia, there is a list of Star Wars books as well. The list is older and outdated, but it’s a little easier than wading your way through the wikipedia list.
